Which Winter Footwear To Choose
Saturday, November 29th, 2008As summer disappears, so does the need to walk around bare foot or in skimpy, barely there sandals, exposing your feet to as much fresh air as possible. What we get from winter is slippers, socks and ice blocks that are growing at our feet. Your pins will still look stylish because the winter will bring int the new fashions when it comes to shoes we wear.
It seems that the boots, like biker boots in vogue and equestrian boots, will be next to ballerina flats and animal prints for this winter. You’ll find ballerina flats in all types of materials and colors, with their round toes. This winter animal prints, metallics - especially gold, and velvets are the big sellers. Something different then the typical flat shoes could be a low or even high, vamp heel with ankle ties.
Mary Jane’s are also in fashion, as is the colour red and the shiny patent look. The name Mary Jane is an American term for a strap shoe or sandal that has low heels, broad, rounded and closed toes and a buckle strap across the instep and/or around the ankle. The situation is different now, but they’ve used to be made of black patent leather. It is easy to find them in all kinds of materials and colors these days. The shoes that were mainly known as little girls shoes are Mary Jane’s - they were only sometimes reffered to as a shoes for little boys. Now they are also shoes for grown women, although in the case of women they are more informal than they are for children.
The Mary Jane’s are not what they used to be, now they have thick platform soles and higher heels added to them. Punk rockers and Goths adopted the shoes in particular, although some others would vamp up the “Lolita” look and wear them with high knit socks and a very short paid, pleated schoolgirl skirt.
Another trend this winter is the peep-toe shoe. I know you think that your feet would surely freeze if you wear one of these, but I asure you that this is not really crazy and that you will be warm as you would be in a regular pumps you wear.
I hope that you have more ideas now and see all the options you have when it come to shoes for winter. You’ll be perfectly ready for the winter days if you choose what fits your feet and yuor style.
